Sample Itinerary: Uganda Gorillas + Tanzania Safari (12 Days)
Days 1-4: Uganda — Gorillas & Chimpanzees
Day 1: Arrive Entebbe. Transfer to Kibale Forest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale — highest primate density on Earth.
Day 3: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Afternoon rest, pre-trek briefing.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking. One hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family. The encounter that changes everything.
Day 5: Fly Uganda to Tanzania
Transfer to Entebbe or Kigali. Fly to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Met by your Tanzanian guide. Overnight in Arusha.
Days 6-8: Serengeti National Park
Three days in the Serengeti. The contrast with the dense gorilla forest is extraordinary. Open plains, big skies, predators hunting in the open. Lion prides, cheetah, leopard, migration herds in season. Optional balloon safari.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater
Full day in the crater. Black rhino, flamingos, lion, buffalo. A world within a world.
Days 10-12: Zanzibar (Optional Extension)
Fly from the Serengeti to Zanzibar. Stone Town, beach, dhow cruises, spice tours. The perfect decompression after 9 days of intense wildlife. Depart from Zanzibar.
Logistics We Handle
Gorilla permits: We book with UWA (Uganda) or RDB (Rwanda) on your behalf. Book 3-6 months ahead for peak season.
Cross-country flights: Entebbe to Kilimanjaro, Kigali to Kilimanjaro, or Kigali to Nairobi. We book the best routing for your itinerary.
Separate vehicles and guides: You have a dedicated vehicle and guide in each country, both arranged by us. The transition is seamless.
Visas: We advise on the East Africa Tourist Visa ($100) which covers Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda on a single visa if your itinerary includes multiple of these countries.
